2012 will see a continuation of the popular ‘High Noon’ Track &
Field meets conducted by Athletics ACT (AACT) and supported by the ACT
Little Athletics Association (ACTLAA) and the ACT Veterans Athletic Club
(ACTVAC). All athletes turning at least 12 years of age by 31st
December 2012 and older are invited to compete at these meets. There will be a rotating program of events in the 90 minute time-slot similar to the Summer T&F season. There will be at least 2 sprints, middle-distance events, jumps, and throws at every meet. Constants will be 60m, 100m, 3000m, Shot Put and High Jump. Rotation will be between 800m and 1500m, Sprint and Long Hurdles, Discus and Javelin, Long and Triple Jump. The 400m will be included on a rotational basis. Walking events will be meshed into running events. Athletes must check in 30 minutes prior to their first event. Dates Sundays, from 12 noon to 1:30pm, on the following days: 6 May 22 July 20 May 12 August 10 June 2 September 24 June 16 September *note date change from the 23rd due to AIS infield maintenance 8 July Entry Fees Registered Athletes: $5.00 (2011/12 registered Little Athletes are registered until 30th September 2012) Unregistered Athletes: $10.00 ($5.00 Gate Fee & $5.00 One Day Rego) (An unregistered athlete is someone who is not currently registered with AACT, ACTLAA or ACTVAC and will be required to take out a one-day registration for insurance coverage) Athletics ACT 2012/2013 Registration is now available. Click here to renew or submit a new registration Teams Point score Athletics ACT will be trialling a teams points score competition during the High Noon Meets. Athletes can register a team of 4-6 members that must include 3 of the following representatives from either: Vets, Female, Male, Junior (U14-20), Senior (Open) and AWD. Each team must compete in at least 1 track event and 1 field event at each High Noon Meet. Points will be given to athletes from High Noon results and there will be prizes after the last High Noon Meet this season to the winning teams.
