Dates

The 2012 Australian Junior Championships will be held over Wednesday March 14 to Sunday March 18 at Sydney Olympic Park.

Please find below the Second Round Selections for the Australian Junior Championships.

The Final Selections list will be available after the February 24 Athletics ACT meet. If athletes have missed selection in an event, please provide any updated performances if you have greatly bettered what was originally submitted on your Expression of Interest Form or achieved at the ACT Junior Champs. This is for existing forms received only – no new forms can be submitted. Any new results will be considered, but still does not guarantee selection unless it is a qualifier in a recognised meet.

If you have been selected for the team, athletes must advise the Team Managers ASAP and by February 24 if you accept your selection and confirm which events you wish to compete in. If we do not hear back from you, athletes will not be entered into the Championships. Also, if you do not specify which event you wish to enter, you will need to cover entry costs for all events you have been selected for.

Team Meeting

There will be a compulsory team meeting on February 24, 5.30pm at the AIS Track. The meeting will be short and will include a short presentation on illicit drugs. After the meeting, athletes can purchase uniforms, team clothing and pay for athlete entry fees and the team levy.

Team Costs

Event entry fees are $20 per event and the team levy is $75. All fees are due at the Team Managers Meeting Feb 24

Athletes can order Team Hoodies and T-Shirts but these are a special order and must be submitted to the office by February 24. Please find the designs and order form below.

Selection Guidelines

Please find attached below the Selection Guidelines. Expression on Interest in the Champs have now closed.

ACT Team Selection will be based on athletes achieving the Australian 2011/2012 Australian Championship Qualifying Standards in at least one competition. The qualifying period began on January 1 2011 - 2012. Please see attachment below for the 2011-2012 Qualifying Standards.

All athletes must have competed at least once in a competition sanctioned and conducted by Athletics ACT in 2011/2012. Please see the attachment below for the Athletics ACT Competition Calendar.

Athletes must be registered financial members of Athletics ACT before entry into the event.

Athletes must be at least 12 years of age before December 31 2012 to be eligible to compete.
