100m Bolt - September 16

Athletics ACT proudly presents: the 100m Bolt Have you ever wondered how fast you can run the 100m?  Are you watching the Olympic Games and wondered just how quick the elite athletes really are?  Think you could easily beat 9.58 sec for the 100m? Do you want to find out if you are the fastest runner in your school/sport team?  Or do you simply have a family grudge that needs settling with a 100m duel? If so, then you need to enter the first ever AACT 100m Bolt Following on only weeks after the excitement of the London Olympic Games, Athletics ACT presents a family friendly event for participants of all ages and abilities.    Entry is by gold coin donation which allows you to run the 100m as many times as you like.    Groups will be catered for, and all efforts made to ensure you compete against your friends or family in the same race.  Full electronic timing to Olympic standards, photo finish results available (at cost), celebrity races When: 10:30am – 11.30am, Sunday 16 September (registrations open from 10am) Where: AIS Athletics Track, Bruce Cost: Gold coin donation Programme:  10:20am - Opening announcements 10:30 - 11:00:  Public races 11:00 – 11:05   Celebrity races 11:05 – 11:30:  Public races Directly following this fun event stick around and watch athletes at junior to veteran age compete in running, jumping and throwing events at the High Noon meet: Athletics ACT/ACT Veterans’ Athletics and ACT Little Athletics final joint winter series meet. There will be a BBQ running for lunch.
